Okay I've heard from a few ppl that if you swallow oral estrogen some of it is "lost" or might I say determined as waste by the digestive system. So the estrogen is less effective than if it is taken sublingually or dissolved in the mouth- has more of an absorbing effect.

Should I consider talking to my doctor about starting to take estro sublingaully?

1) will it make changes quicker and more profound?

2) should I drink water after it completely dissolves in my mouth?

Okay I heard that adding a progesterone makes results quicker, makes curves etc. But I heard that you should do it at the end after you have gotten some breast growth from estro alone.

3) should I wait for estro to make some changes and then start progesterone OR should I start it now with both estro & progest?

The reason why I ask this is because I want results quick as possible- please don't get the idea that I'm being impatient because I'm only trying to improve my HRT regimen the best possible to yield quicker results NOT by over-dosing as that has no effect except nasty side effects but by trying to get the right combination of hormones and the best combination of meds.- I have been doing cardio, taking vitamins for estro's absorption etc.

By the way I'm going to ask doc for Duphaston as that is gauranteed not to convert to Testos...

Thanks everyone!

PS. Racheal you look great, along with many others that I don't know your names...

Hey Tanya, Seems to me based on first hand experience and knowledge of some others that the Dr. will introduce HRT in stages. Such as a T-blocker for however long a time then maybe E, then possibly a progesterone (depending on that DR.) then maybe another T blocker. Though it could just end up E and a T-blocker it is all going to depend on the dr and your body. So let the dr and your blood testr results determine your HRT regimen. I myself along with at least one other Post-op Ts that I know of tried doing the Estrogen and Spiro routine sublingually for a while. The results were that we each decided it wasn't worth the effort and that while one tastes minty the other is rather nasty tasting to hold in one/s mouth the rediculously long time it takes to dissolve. Especially as since dissolving in the tummy over a period of time was what that form of E was designed for.

Hey,

Yes!- that is EXACTLY what my doc did! He first started on a T blocker in very low doses(I complained but he explained that he's making sure my body can handle it and to make it adjust to the med) Then he increased till I got no erections and lost strenght. He then started very low in E and then increased it. Now I'm taking both T along with E- I'm also taking vitamins as I stated. I'm going to ask my doc as I read just now that it helps some people. I may wait to see if E brings in results

Transdermal estrogen.  Like the Vivelle Dot patch works much better than taking the tablets sublingually.  Taking the tablets sublingually is not even in the same league as transdermal estrogen in terms of feminizing results.  At least in my case it wasnt.  I tried sublingual with minimal results and then I switched to the patch.  I wear Vivelle Dot patches now.  They do work.

Thats interesting! My endo put me on Spiro,Eostrogen and Progesterone all at once.
Is that normal?
I cant imagine letting spiro or progesterone dissolve in your mouth but I do tend to suck on my Premarin.
I need to see my Endo. Maybe she can tell me her reasons
I have curves that are getting better with these meds. I guess it takes longer for some than others no matter how you try to speed things up.

The gradual approach seems the most sensible one.  I just don't think it's something to get impatient about, though I understand the feeling.

I guess it depends person to person.

i'm going to wait for a while like 3 months- make sure I excersice, eat well, sleep well, keep HGH high, take vitamins etc- If I still don't get results I may have to talk to my endo about either increasing E, increasing AAs or adding some progestorone- but I don't think that will happen. I think I'll do fine with E alone.

Well, I started on spiro, horse pee, and prometrium (progesterone). Then I saw another doc, who cut my spiro in half (since I didn't need that much, with a half dose my T hovers around 0.5). I also went off the horse pee and started estrace, which I dissolve under my tounge (my doc says patches are great, but more expensive). I think I've grown lots (my E levels are around 1050, which is kind of a lot).

I stopped taking prometrium for the time being because it seemed to make things slow. I've been off it for about two months and a lot of people are noticing that my waist is looking better.

I just pop the E under my tongue, and it disolves pretty fast and usually after I min I drink something.

I actually need to get my blood tested again. I've just been too crazy busy to get that done. I will have to say that the estrace worked better on me than horse pee, and dissolving it under my tongue has worked well.

One thing about dissolving, is that it's a good idea to divide up the doses.

congrats!

someone said that they knew some people that oral estrogen was more effective for them then taking injections or patches. So I guess it depend person to person. Some people I know say that progestrone saved them, others said it did nothing.-read it on a few forums.

So I gonna stick with my usual regimen- my doc just did a blood test- so far the T is in good levels considering that I just started and the estro is also in good levels considering I just started. He said to wait like 6 months to see how it goes and then he'll start playing with my regimen to make things change.

LOL- today I noticed my tits were showing through my shirt. I noticed my frame seems a bit smaller too.- guess it's gradual but very significant over time..

I asked my Doc about the dissolving under tung thing, he says there's no evidence to support that it's better. I tried it several times when I first went on HRT, I found the pills just crumbled and turned into nothing in your mouth. You can feel a grittiness but in 10 min there was no pill left, but I know from my former drug days that it takes longer than 10 min to absorb into the blood. What I think was happening is my estrace was dissolving into the saliva, so what you need to do is to hold that saliva under your tung for it to actually make a difference. Not worth it, it was nasty holding it there. I have just been swallowing them for the majority of my time on HRT and I am happy with my results, Ya I want more hips and boobs but for 6months on HRT I think my results are fair.

^ Kewl, I heard estrofem is pretty effective anyway compared to many other oral forms.

Hi, Tanya,

Please don't get in a hurry to see the changes in your body that are the gifts of Mother Estrogen.

Hormones are pretty potent stuff and I would *not* try to push too hard for quick results.

Anything that is ingested into the digestive system also goes through the liver.  Too much estrogen or progesterone can cause problems that can hurt the liver.  It is possible that with enough liver damage a body will no longer safely tolerate any estrogen at all.

May I suggest that you never self-medicate and that you always do as your doctor instructs you?  Your transition will be so much more enjoyable because you did.

^ I didn't mention anything about increasing dosage but thanks for your concern- i was basically trying to make E absorb better which is different. My liver is in good condition  ;D

Well self-medicating, I don't suggest it but if your going to do it make sure you use bio hormones only.
