I am scheduled to under go SRS this summer right after I graduate high school and I was curious if anyone could help me with the decision as to whether or not I should take a gap year/semester. I do not know what recovery will be like or whether or not I will be bale to handle starting college right after having a big surgery and then another scheduled in December any advice as what I should do?

A 2-3 month recovery time is sufficient to recover from surgery. The one exception is find out with the dilation schedule is from your surgeon and see if it can be worked into your schedule. Not all dilation schedules are the same and it's better if you are down to two a day if possible. If you are staying close enough to campus that you can rearrange classes and slip a mid day third dilation in, that would work as well.

The one word of warning is while you are recovering, make sure you are moving around as much as you comfortably can. If you spend that time in bed you will not recover your strength and returning to a normal schedule will be very difficult.

It depends how early or late into the summer your surgery is the only srs date I was able to get was during my school semester so I took off. Keep in mind dilation is very time consuming
