I'm seeing a therapist on Tuesday, per everyone's suggestion. Everyone except the ladies at the support group, who were a bit baffled as to why I'd go to one for anything but letters of consent.

They transitioned 10-15 years ago so maybe things were different then. The support group has been around for almost 40 years though...
Anyway I told the therapist I'd crank out a quick life story, which I'm about halfway through. I told him as much as possible on the phone, but my tendency to ramble, forget critical details, and occasionally stammer (mild speech impediment) kept getting in the way. Has anyone else written out their experiences like this, whether on their own volition or by request?
The therapist specializes in transgender issues so I feel good about working with him.
Even with my rambling prose I'm only up to about 10 pages and almost up to the current year. I mean to write a whole raft of stuff about my recent experiences feeling TG (only about 8 months), and also my "thought process," which I've never been sure is conventional, but explains a lot of how I've lived my life - reclusiveness, fixation on my hobby, etc. I'd be interested in whether therapists ask for specifics like that, too.
I'm not pulling any punches, either. For many print I'm sure would be a much more comfortable media for telling someone about things that are extra extra extra private or personal.
