I'm just over the two month post op from yeson.  I've started to train and i need some advice or feedback from others who have gone through the same procedure.

Sadly yeson isn't responding at all as they are on summer vacation and will be for some time.

I'm basically on my own at the moment.

So my issues are how i should train.

Currently I have a voice break just below middle C.  the warm up is below my voice break, the training is above the voice break beginning at middle C.  When i speak My brain seems to still think i have my vocal cords and i talk below that voice break at almost my old level.

Is this normal? should i be trying to force my talk above the voice break and avoid talking below that voice break? Should i expect my natural voice to end up above that break or below? if i train in a relaxed manor it will be below that break.

it's very odd and im super confused.  It definitely sucks to not have any contact with yeson at this point.

Your concerns need to be addressed by the surgeon who did your procedure.

At this point just keep following your surgeons instructions until you see him again.

I have not had voice surgery, but my FFS surgeon does do this procedure and his instructions are for complete silence for 1 month, then gentle soft speech for another month.

I do appreciate your response but I'm already past the two months and am into my training.  As there was very very little information on that training and/or surgeon's instructions and being unable to get in contact with that surgeon or his staff I am hoping to find someone who has gone through the same process in the hopes of getting concrete information/experience on that training.

Welcome to Susan's Place. What you are explaining is a bit confusing as you are talking about a voice break. I am guessing that the break is between your head voice and your chest voice. If so, normally you would want to be in the head voice for proper resonance. While it sounds like your voice is still a bit on the high side, it's possible that there is still some swelling left from the surgery and your voice may drop a bit as time goes on. It will take a while for your ear to adjust to the new voice and I found that a pitch app on my phone was useful to ensure my voice was where it should be.

oh that makes sense, between the head and the chest voice.  it's all such new sensations.  I've been using a pitch monitor and a keyboard for my current training to make sure im where the training dictates.  The break is where I expected my pitch to end up with was part of the confusing part.

I know im not explaining it well, i don't really understand it very well either :D

Thanks for the feedback.
