HRT for minors in FL?

Hey all,
I live in central Florida and have been having a hard time finding endocrinologists that would prescribe me T, assuming bloodwork is okay. I'm 16. Does anyone have any personal experience with this area? I also really don't want to/can't wait a long time before starting, lol. I've heard you sometimes have to go through months of gender therapy, but can't find anything definite on the subject. If you've got anything localized and T-related, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

You may very well have a hard time finding somebody who will provide Testosterone to a minor. You need to have a good therapy background and others who will agree that it would be in your best interest. Once you are legally an adult, you are judged capable of making your own decision and doctors should be willing to provide T. It has to do with legal issues should you latter decide that T was wrong with you and decide to sue the doctor. With strong therapy and/or becoming legally responsible for your decisions, that risk is reduced.

Normally the approach would be to place you on a drug that blocks the effects of estrogen. These might be provide as early as the start of puberty and would prevent a feminine development. They would also allow you to gain additional height then when T is provided at 18, you would go through a normal male puberty.

I found that hrt is at the discretion of the doctor and how strictly they follow old wpath guidelines.  I know guys who started within weeks of seeing a therapist. 

Also, you don't have to see an endo.  I see a normal everyday doctor.  One of the biggest differences is that endos start your T dose a lot lower.  It's not really wrong either way.  Endos just follow older guidelines from my experience. 

I don't know a lot about hormones for minors, but you definitely want to get on blockers if you can.  It'll help you gain height and just save you some struggles as you continue into your adult years.
