I am aware that with some surgeries there are things one can do to really maximize the reduction of scars.
A good example is Cimeosil, Scarguard when undergoing a breast aug.

Is there anything along these lines to help with vaginoplasty scaring that GRS Montreal did not tell anyone?

I'm trying to get everything together as quickly as possible. That way I can just veg out for the last couple weeks while I wait for my flight day.
The sort of things we aren't told about like a really good quality donut seat. (I've read and been told many times that the one Montreal issues is absolute junk)
I only get paid once a month so I need to buy as much of the "extra stuff" this week because my next pay day will be the day I fly to Montreal and therefore to late to pick these things up.

There's also kelo-cote. I don't think you're supposed to use it too soon after surgery, so it doesn't get inside your skin through the incisions.

After top surgery I used a product called scarrid.  It totally worked. My scars are almost unnoticeable now. You have to commit to putting it on 3 times a day and its expensive. $50 a bottle but it really worked for me. I don't know what kind of scars you get from SRS but talk to your surgeon. And ask him for pictures of his work. I went to a couple of surgeons before I found one with good after pictures. Also talk to your surgeon beforehand and tell him you are concerned about scars. Scars were a main concern for me. I had seen a lot of pictures of top surgery that left bad scars. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said he could do it with minimal scar tissue after. Don't be afraid to ask a lot if questions.

Thank you both.
I will look into the products.
As for "worrying about scars", Brassard is world renowned I've seen his work. It is good for dang sure. Im also not to worried about it. Ill be fine with scars. I have plenty already. However I do ofcourse want to minimize them as much as possible.

Transdude. I was actually hoping someone FtM would answer. I know top surg very frequently utilizes such things but I couldnt remember the products used. I do ask ALOT of Q's. Its something I do with everything. Try to understand everything I do as much as I possibly can. I will be talking to my surgeons office today and I'll be asking about each of these products and the suitability with vaginoplasty.
How soon after surgery did you start using "scarrid"?

I started using it three weeks after surgery. I maybe could have started at two weeks but the surgeon suggested I wait three.

Ive heard of "strips" of tape like stuff that you put over the scars. Particularly Ive heard of it being used for breast aug's but I think i have read atleast one thing online where someone used it for top removal with marvelous results.

I havent gotten time to read up on these suggestions yet due to being way past busy but Ill get to it.
I am curious if one of the items you 2 have referred to is that product?

So decided ill make time right now to look them up.
Both are a cream or atleast a liquidish tube. Not a tape.
Maybe I just confussed posts. It was well over a year ago that i started looking into it.
