So I'm a little confused, and need to clear things up for my Youtube channel where I intend to give monthly HRT updates. I first started HRT (mtf) on March 14th taking a low dose of estradiol and a low dose of spironolactone (2x per day) and then stopped on April 15th due to some ridiculous scheduling conflict with Planned Parenthood. I was not on HRT between April 15th - May 18th. I started back on May 19th my estradiol dosage was doubled and spironolactone was doubled (2x per day).

Going a full month off of hormones made me miserable, just knowing that the effects would withering away day by day and leaving an empty shell of dysphoria.

Am I back at month 1 considering I had to stop for a month or would this be considered month 2?

Serena,

Here at Susan's Place we do not discuss dosages. Please read the Terms of Service.

To answer your general question of starting and stopping early in the transition period: Yes, the psychological effects are a big disappointment when you suddenly stop HRT. Your body was in conflict with your natural hormone production during the time when you were not on Estrogen of any type.

With only one month in, the physical effects are minimal and you can consider that first month good or a waste. Either way, it will make little difference.
