Just a note concerning a prior topic:

Let's please remember that laws vary per state and country.
Some of us will never be able to attain a proper birth certificate or license marker regardless of how much surgery and therapy.
I will likely always have the wrong gender marker on my license and will never be able to change my records or birth certificate due to being born in a certain state of the good ol US of A.
We don't all have the same privileges or options.
Let's please remember that, everybody.
Nero was the Forum Admin here at Susan's Place for several years up to the time of his death.

Thank you for the general call to reality check, Nero.  It's a patchwork all over the states that seldom works in the favor of those who are transsexual.

Let's not forget all those who died because of their gender or its conflict or its ambiguity.

It's the same in the U.K. You cannot change your birth certificate properly in England (it still states it's a copy and not the original) but you CAN change it completely if you were born and live in Scotland.....

Oh crap, really Berleigh? It's an expensive process too, and cumbersome when you're an ex-pat. Maybe I won't bother.
