Hi I was on estradiol and progesterone  and suprefact I got finally got insurance  and it covers the estradiol  and progesterone  but not the suprefact  I am waiting  to  see  the doctor  to see if he can give me something  else  that I can afford  as suprefact  has now gone up again. Your insurance may have a web site where you can log in and check what medications are covered. Generic medication is covered more often and has a lower copay that brand name meds. Might be worth checking. Many here are using either finasteride or spironolactone as AA. It does depend a bit on a persons medical history too what the best choice is.

Absolutely worth talking too your doctor to see if there is a covered alternative...

Suprefact is a trade name for Buserelin Acetate. This med effects the pituitary gland and is used for certain hormone responsive cancers. There are some side effects you may be concerned about, such as other hormone imbalances, like an increase in testosterone. Also, FSH and LH will be effected. Initially you get an increase in these two hormones, but with long term use, your body becomes less sensitive to the effects of these hormones.

In my opinion, as long as you do not have any other issues besides gender dysphoria, Suprefact would not be my first choice as an Antiandrogen. Spironolactone or Finasteride are much more commonly used for this purpose.

I am on Suprefact. If you are in Canada, I will suggest Cyproterone Acetate on minimal dose since it is a very powerful AA and cheaper. I recently switched to Suprefact because it almost mimics an orchi without having one and it's also considered a gold standard for AA as it really goes to the source of your T. However, I understand that the cost is quite prohibitive and my insurance covers it 100%.

Take care and Goodluck!
