Dawn, congratulations!  That's over a half million minutes of HRT.

If I am reading this correctly you went from a 46" (117cm) waist to 37" (94cm) waist in one year.  That's an incredible accomplishment and takes a lot more than HRT to do that - almost an inch of waistline per month.  You are taking better care of your health and it shows.

Just don't continue to lose an inch of waistline every month for the next few years - we don't want you to disappear! Having a mass below zero might cause a physics paradox with space-time tunneling or something like that. Traffic in Seattle is already bad enough without adding the complexity of quantum mechanics.  We love ya Dawn, you rock.

Hi Dawn,

Congrats on that first year. Your weight and measurements (for surely you didn't get on without the other) is pretty good. 6 foot plus or not those measurement do sound good to me. I can't seem to see if I have hips or not due to the size of mt mid section.
  Kepp up the good work.

Hugs,
   Laurie

Congrats, that is quite the results.  Also you look way younger than your stated age.  This agrees with you very much.

No no no  On Aug 1 2014 I was 294 lbs today, I am at 225. You caught me. I fudged it by 10 lbs.

I lost 70 lbs over a three year period. I have a couple pair of fairly new size 46 Jeans. I cut out carbs (bread, soda 6 cans a day, instead of eating a box of cookies I limit myself to one or two. Cut full breakfast to a cup of coffee and a poached egg. Dinner now is usually mostly veggies and fish or chicken. serving sizes are monitored. No fried foods. Limit eating out. The Biggest influence of the last year is I do not suffer daily bouts of depression, so I don't mind getting off my butt and doing things. I still have limitations because of my health. I also have diabetes and it was imperative I lose weight. I like my limbs and about the time I was 294 lbs. my wife had her leg amputated because of diabetes. If that does not give you reason to lose weight nothing will. So yes you are correct in pointing out that losing that much weight so quickly would have a deleterious effect. No it was not a sprint, but rather a marathon. Due to the edema from heart failure my weight can vary up to 5 lbs a day. The real miracle is living for 25 years with cardiomyopathy. Avg is only 5 years. Due to my constant depression, I felt that if I gave up eating I would have given up on all my vice's. I had quit smoking, drinking and due to spiro over 25 years, sex.
Until you fight LA traffic for 45 years there is nothing that compares. And I traveled 90 miles door to door over 5 freeways. In Seattle traffic dies down after 6 pm. In LA it is mostly all day and all night. Daily commute 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.

Congrats on the milestone.  You are a positive model for us all.  You prove anyone can do anything with the right frame of mind.  And boobs.  ;D

I don't know about a positive model. I've made some changes because I don't suffer depression as much. I did not start the hormones for boobs per se, they are a nice accessory however. But I did start the hormones to bring harmony to my family. I would get so depressed and dysphoric my behaviour around the house was starting to break us apart. I am a lot better to live with now. Somehow it feels like I am returning to a state of mind that was formed before I was born under the influence of female hormones. The real role models were the pioneers that came before us. And to the next generation of leaders like Jazz Jennings. I've prayed to somehow magically transition to a woman for as long as I have memory and it took 64 years to finally attempt change.   Thank you for your kind comments as it helps give me confidence that I made the right decision.

I feel you.  I have the same LA commute.  Having a desk job doesn't help the weight either.  Congrats on finding your groove!
