Just a question but post op can you use a band or something to hold the stent in place so that you can move around with it in place. I am off for srs in July op Aug 1st. My wife asked the question and I don't know the answer. does anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks

The doctor supplied units may not work well walking about but I did read a blog post somewhere regarding this. A woman purchased a unit from an online sex shop that was a very simple T type design. She would insert, put on her outfit and do limited things around the house without issue and enjoyed the results. ;)
Cheers,

When you dilate, you don't want to cough, sneeze or giggle because all of those activities will force the dilator out. Getting up and moving around will likely cause you to use the same muscles resulting in the same problem. You want to push the dilator in far enough that you know you are at maximum depth but it would be difficult to keep it in place if you are moving around. It's possible to use a towel while you are laying down and Susan wrote a post about it after her surgery but I am used to working with one hand free so I haven't tried it.

Yea, the last thing I wanna be doing is walking around with one of those in my 'gina.   :icon_yikes:
I also think that relaxing and allowing that vaginal wall to stretch properly is the key point to dilation.  I just lay down and watch the television.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

This was tried many years ago. Walking around with a softer stent was difficult to get in and really not worth the effort. Now that we are using hard plastic stents, the intermittent schedule seems to be the most effective. We just dedicate the time for our daily maintenance.

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to get up while dilating. It sounds dangerous.

I have the impression these bands are not really necessary, they just make it easier. The ones in that link are only for a couple of weeks, before moving on to dynamic dilation.

When im laying down i tend to be more relaxed and it def does make dilation easier. I couldnt imagine how moving around would help dilation but i'd be interested in ppls experience in doing that. I've heard of pre op women using tucking belts, would one of those work?  :)

Lay down, relax and enjoy! It only takes 20 minutes or so.

Agreed... This is "me" time and a great excuse to meditate and be relaxed for a bit while you contemplate life's complexities!!!

I definitely would not walk around with a dilator in me. What would happen if I tripped :0
