Two Stage Breast Implant Question

Yes, that's my cost for a single stage. I don't see the point in a two stage. The cost is the same as 2 single stages since they are two separate surgeries. I figure that I'll get the single stage and if later I want them bigger I can always get bigger ones since by then the skin will have stretched, which is the purpose of a 2 stage anyways, but I hope that I'll be content after the first surgery and not wish for larger later.

The doctor's anesthesiologist only performs general anesthesia for this procedure. I've had general anesthesia twice before and didn't even feel nausea, it's just the whole concept of being as close to clinically dead that's scarry! Yes, I've heard that it feels like someone is standing on your chest 24/7 and that the pain is worse than SRS. I already told the doc to hook me up with extra pain meds because I don't tolerate pain well.

Had a consult today with a physician who formerly advocated online that trans patients generally get a two stage procedure.  His opinion on this seems to have shifted for the most part, saying that unless you are going huge, try to get 'er done in one operation.  If you need to revise, that's the second stage, but it is unnecessary more often than not.

This was the last of three consults for me and I think I've settled on a surgeon.  I recommend consulting with more than one surgeon, as my thinking on sizing did evolve between the first and the last.  I also think that I'll approach surgery with more confidence and be less likely to experience post-op "freakout".
