Very specific experience with bathing suits?

So I was reading a blog post that was something along the lines of "17 signs I should have known i was trans" or something like that.  It was pretty standard stuff, but one post did stand out to me.  The author said that growing up as a boy, she was enfatuated with women's bikinis and one pieces.....to the point where if she saw one lying out she felt a overwhelming compulsion to put it on.  The compulsion was so strong, she said, that she often DID put it on even if there might be a little risk of getting caught.  She said she woud typically sneak to a bathroom, put it on, look at herself in the mirror, and then quickly take it off and put it back.  She said she thought it was a unique thing to her, but she has mentioned it to a couple of friends who have transitioned and they said something to the effect of "I completely understand what you're saying".

I bring this up because as a young lad I had pretty much this exact experience with womens bathing suits many times....and specifically with bathing suits only (and once with a friends cheerleading outfit). 

Anyone else identify with this?  Sorry if this is weird it just hit really close to home for me.
Right now, I only go by Jessica on this forum.  Maybe someday I'll go by Jessica everywhere.

Hey Jessica!

My guess is that most all of us had behavior close to what you are describing... I would try on articles of women's clothes from a very young age whenever the opportunity arose and I thought I could do so without being caught!!!!

Whoops! Ya caught me!!!! I'm actually wearing a blue bikini in my avatar!... I had a nice afternoon at the beach yesterday!!!!

Yeah count me in.   I had/have a very strong attraction to swimsuits/leotards growing up.  Some of my first articles of women's clothing were swimsuits/leotards/spandex shorts.  It has since grown to include yoga pants and other exercise gear.

I still remember this one suit that a girl I crushed on wore...damn that suit was amazing and she made it look good.

I never had any interest in bathing suits probably because I knew I would never get to wear one outside,  but I did like my mom's clothes and would try on all kinds of outfits.  I thought I was really slick about it too. When I was 13 one day my mom said " if you're going to try on my clothes fold them the right way before you put them back. "  Busted!  Lol

Ashley,  if I had your body and gorgoua tan I would wear a bathing suit all the time.

Awww Thanks Julia!... I think some of the attraction to swimwear for many is that it is the least amount of clothes that it is socially accepted to wear! At least in the proper venue!!!... There is probably some appeal in that to our exhibitionist sides!!! :)

I have been attracted to women's swimwear most of my life, more than any other article of clothing.  I never wore anyone else's clothing without their knowledge, and oddly never had that urge.  I had a different solution.
When I was 13 I cut up some blue jeans, added some gardening twine and made my own bathing suit.  I mangled two sets of jeans to find the right shape.  I was never caught with it, but became ashamed and discarded it a year later.  I wish I had kept that handmade bikini, a positive memory from 1977 that I understand now.

Ah the classic "throw it all away in a moment of shame or desperation".  It would be one of the first tracks on a "trans kids greatest hits" album.

Well, yeah -- this is me, definitely.  When I was four, dad took me to the beach.  I saw lots of women and girls in bikinis, and that was what I wanted to wear.  I wanted to be one of them.  And that desire never went away.

At swimming lessons a few years later, I envied the girls in their two piece bathing suits, and I hated the shorts I had to wear.

I always loved pools or beaches where I could at least look at all the beautiful bathing suits.

In adulthood I got by wearing speedos and men's bikinis for many years.

A few years ago when I came to terms with myself I started collecting women's bikinis.  I ended up with several drawers full of them.  These days I still collect them at a slower pace, but they are a little less the connection to femininity that they used to be and more something (the right thing, finally) that I wear to go swimming.
