I am ages away from my next gender meeting and maybe hormones but thinking I will lay the groundwork now.

My workfriend is teasing me about some girly thing but shes only teasing, no malice so I reply maybe I want to be a girl.

It was obviously taken in jest but there it is first hint.

Has anyone else done this? How did you do it? Did you just come out instead?
Let's see where this journey takes me.

yes I have drop hints for 10 years myself to my coworkers I work with 95 percent females and I tell them just trying to fit in and act like you girls.

I dropped so many hints to my wife from shaving my legs and armpits to wearing a prom dress one Halloween. She didn't catch any of them.

If she is anything like my work friends then I can only tell you: she knows.

I tried the subtle way, clear nail polish, female sneakers, discussions about makeup and nail polish (I knew way too much about both) etc and two of them
Pretty much figured it out after a few weeks..  First two people I had to come out to after my wife...

I tried dropping serious hints to my mum..

She told me 'children need a father'

Then I remembered my son when he was 3  caught me dressed and tol my mum he saw me in granny's clothes.

She must know something is up
