Who was your surgeon and how long ago did you have your surgery?

I had my first jaw feminization surgery in 2004 by Dr Ousterhout, this was not great, it looked uneven, asymmetric and unfinished, still quite masculine, kind of just like what he did with my forehead, then I had revision in 2012 chin jaw with Dr Zukowski, he did a great job, more aggressive and feminine.

I am interested in this as well. I did not have any work done yet, but I worry about the jaw more than about other things. I feel most surgeons seem to get the forehead done well, I do not need a lot of nose work, so I think this will be ok with most as well, but I looked at jaw and chin results and saw in photos many that I am not feeling so good about - sometimes too little was done and sometimes it looks overdone - forced into a strict V shape that does not fit the upper face.

It simply depends on what you have to work with in the first place, some girls already have feminine or androgynous features whereas someone like me, lucky me  :embarrassed: I had masculine features, a big basketball head, my ears are set way back compared to what normal female position is, my forehead was masculine and despite FFS and a revision is still projecting forward, my chin and jaw were less of a challenge and after Dr Zukowski s revision I'm quite happy.
What I'm trying to say, some girls need very aggressive work and others don't, that's how you pick the right surgeon for you. In my case. I was looking for the most aggressive surgeons I could find, I didn't have a choice.
I wouldn't recommend Dr Zukowski for you as he's very aggressive with his jaw chin surgeries.

Rubyyy,

There are many women who have had revisions to their facial procedures. This is not a comment on any surgeons skills. It is more of having the surgeon do what you expect. Communication is the most important exchange between you and your surgeon.

For example, my FFS surgeon has repeatedly told me that nothing feminizes like cheek implants. Which is true for most women. I just do not see myself with high cheek bones for aesthetic and functional reasons. I am a scuba diver and I shoot shotgun games such as skeet or trap or clays. High cheek bones are just not for me. My surgeon respected this and I am happy with the procedures I did get.

On the other hand, there are some people who are never satisfied and get repeated surgeries even if they are advised to stop any more surgeries, for a while at least. Yes, you can over do it. Having 40 or 50 procedures is nothing to brag about. To me, that would indicate a more serious problem, psychological rather than physical.

It will also depend on whether the first non FFS surgeon left some room for more reduction or not, also you wrote that your jaw still looks too big but it's not always about size, sometimes it's about shape. FFS surgeons know more about this than other surgeons even when these other surgeons are maxillofacial experts.

As others have said, I honestly think most FFS's surgeons (and most maxillofacial surgeons) can do pretty aggressive work if you ask them to.

So far if you want some names, based on the most striking before-afters I have seen, I would mention Dr Zukowski, Dr Van de Ven and Dr Deschamps-Braly (I may be missing some names tho, so I'm not saying the other reputed surgeons can't get striking results too).

Also I think it is important to note that, in a vast majority of the most dramatical changes I have seen regarding jaw work, there were additional lower-face procedures done: usually facelifts and cheekbone implants. So those extra procedures may significantly improve jaw countouring (and jaw appearance) results.
