I am going ti be honest. From the puctures I've seen, you don't pass.
The best test that will give you an honest answer is the public reaction. People in here try their best to be nice and give you reassuring answers. I am not one them as I believe  honesty is the best policy.

I'm curious as to how you don't see her as passing?
I know I don't pass, but she totally looks all woman to me.

Hi LittleWitch

I looked at your photos, read the rest of the comments, read Ritana's comment, looked at your photos again and I have to say that in my opinion you pass very well. I'm envious of you!

A question to Ritana: Could you explain how you come to your conclusion?

My opinion?  I think the super thick brow look isn't really the best option for you.  That aside, your looks are certainly not going to be a problem when it comes passing.  But there is more to passing than just looking pretty.  It's even more important to work on mannerisms and voice.

We do try to be nice, as we cannot know other's struggles, though we are all in a similar boat with our gender idenity not matching out physical sex....That being said, you're entitled to your <removed> opinion. If you looked at the photos, I don't know how you could "honestly" say she doesn't pass.

I know how to spot tg. In Bangkok they are everwhere. I run a foundation to help fund tgs who are financially in need in Asia. I hate to challenge Ritana, who in my opinion, is completely wrong. You pass,no doubt about it. Eyebrows that are thickermake you look younger, also you can narrow your face with a strong defined eyebrow. So thats not an issue
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

I think the word opinion is the best one to remember. We all have them. We can state them as long as it is with respect and not bashing. It is up to us to face the challenge of ultimately going out on our own despite what good or bad has been spoken about one's self.  I work in theatre and a wise director suggested that if you believe any of the good reviews, you must believe the bad ones too. We take what we can from the comments; accept them or throw them away.
-now climbing off my soap box of opinions(see  ;) what I did there).

I think you look lovely. I try to be nice and encouraging. I try to find things that are working whenever I comment on a photo and maybe constructively point to an improvement. I do live in a glass house, though. Soooo... I guess I can see the eyebrows being thick as an issue for some but that is pretty small. The angles of of your face are beautifully high. Perhaps some are seeing the angles as being sharp? Not sure. It works for me but HRT will probably continue to smooth and round those a little.

Like so many others, I wish I could look like  this Little Witch.

Warmly,

Joanna

I know many ciswomen with brows thicker than that... <I think>you're nitpicking,<removed> Would you have a doubt about it, if brows wouldn't stand out. They are actually quite proportional to the face and as long as they aren't bushy, they are fine.

Same with other things, if there are any. Although, I would agree that HRT over time would make the face to be a little bit softer

No, I just don't like that look I guess.  Hence why I prefaced it with "my opinion." Notice that it was followed up by "your looks are certainly not going to be a problem when it comes passing."  Because I don't think she looks bad at all.  In fact I think she looks great.  As long as she works on voice and mannerisms she won't have a problem passing 100% of the time.

Alright. Let's keep it cool and calm here.

We can have differing tastes in what looks passable and opinions. That is the challenge to answering that question. There are days when you can see stubble on me and I think I am almost passable. Now lets all agree to disagree without getting personal.

Thanks,

Almost all of the responses that say "you pass" are from people who <may not> know firsthand what passing really entails.

I am full-time and I pass, as does Ritana.  And I agree with her that you do not pass.  Quite frankly, it is unrealistic to expect to be passable after less than 3 months on HRT.  Men and women are sexually dimorphic, and 3 months of estrogen will not negate years of testosterone influence.

You are definitely pretty though, and you have a very good starting point.  Much, much better than I looked at 3 months on HRT, and you are also starting your transition many years before me.  I am sure with more time and hard work, you too will be very passable.  But you are not there yet.

This is what I am not understanding.  How, with these pictures, does she not pass?  She has a body almost exactly like the cis Female Nursing manager at my work, The face like the cis female bank teller at my bank, and the skin like my cis female wife.  Her nose is a touch large, but not outside of gender variance, her eyebrows are thick, but then so are those of my cis female therapist.  Her legs are a bit difficult for me to see/focus on, but they would be the only part that don't look quite right to me.  I would like to know what is making this determination, as it will help her and me as we progress.

Hey, folks!  A little suggestion here.

If you're going to tell someone that they do not pass, please be so kind as to say why a person isn't passing.  Brow ridge, upper lip height, masseter muscle bulk, etc.

Just saying "Nope, you don't pass" and walking away, or worse, just repeating the position without backing is the sort of thing I might expect to see from certain factions on FaceBook, but we really do try to be better than that here.

Susan's Place is supposed to be a support site.  Be supportive, and provide some guidance to folks on why they don't pass, and perhaps even offer constructive solutions.  (I know why I don't pass.  All I need is a humongous check and an opening in a surgery schedule...  ;) )
Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Ahem. I live and look great as a female. <removed>
She has that fit and heathy, a look I liked when as a playboy, and also now as a female tg. Its a body shape choice.

Moderators edit to remove an escalating and potentially bashing couple of sentences.

Not being judgmental, just being honest, which is what the original poster requested.

<edited quote removed>

I just wanted to give some perspective on my point of view as a passing trans woman.  I am not here to play games, I'm here to give my honest opinion and advice.  Telling people that they pass, when they actually do not pass, is actually unhelpful and potentially sets them up for disaster in the real world.

But ok, since you are all attacking me for being so "unhelpful" and "unsupportive", when IMO it is you all who are doing so by falsely giving hope to someone who is not actually passable, here is my honest, detailed opinion on why she does not pass:

The main thing I notice is that the hair looks fake.  It is better to go with a pixie cut than to wear a wig.  For older trans people who may have no choice but to wear a wig, it is worth spending multiple hundreds of dollars to buy one that looks real.  The worst thing you can do is to buy a cheap wig.

In the full-body shot where she is holding the blue vodka bottle, you can see that her shoulders are too broad in relation to her legs.  Her legs are way too skinny for her frame.  That also is a pretty big giveaway.  In the final picture, where she is sitting between 2 cis women, you can see just how skinny her thighs are and how much it makes her stand out.  More time on HRT will cause more fat to be deposited in her thighs and she'll be closer to having a feminine silhouette.  So it's just a matter of time.  Again, 3 months on HRT is not enough to be passable.  The changes happen slowly and takes a lot of time; it's not magic and it doesn't happen in a few months.  In the meantime, wearing A-Line skirts and empire waist dresses would be more beneficial rather than super-short bodycon dresses which work against her body type.

I am going to avoid nitpicking on facial features because that is a sensitive topic on a public forum.  If the OP would like my opinion on facial features, she can message me privately.
