Hey, so I've finally begun my next phase of transition after being on almost three years of hormones.

I've entered the "pain" portion of transition and that is hair removal.
Went to a place in Beverley Hills CA earlier Wednesday 7/19/17 and had my first experience getting zapped.

I've had previous laser hair removal sessions on my face and this was new territory getting it in my lower bits.
Being in California, my insurance was welcoming and friendly and covered everything (except the creams and numbing injections) and I went in and got zapped for almost two hours. Heading over there I had to do preparation and apply numbing cream and wrap myself up first. I felt like packaged food in Tupperware. :D

The pain was really not bad, it was just uncomfortable like the laser sessions I had. Pain on the less painful pricks were about a 5/10 but the ones that DID sting really f****** hurt. A 9/10 for sure.

Yes it was painful but I also felt happy because I got my electrolysis virginity taken care of and was starting it finally!!
She got a lot of hair taken care of and I lasted almost two hours which I definitely feel proud about. I thought I wouldn't last an hour!

I dunno where I'm going with this. I'm sure I have a long way to go before this whole thing is done and I can move onto surgery but I wanna document stuff during my first baby steps towards this phase of transition. :p

WORTH IT!!!

Congrats!  Two hours is pretty intense, even with some pain relief.  Are you taking any hormones?  It sure feels like it hurts more in general since I went on E, but the pain level probably varies as much or more just based on how hydrated I am.  I've had a ton of electrolysis on my face, but only laser below the waist.  Do they give you anesthetic injections there at the salon?  I didn't think that was kosher in LA.

From my experience the pain with electrolysis also depends on needle size and the operator. Before I set my sights on Thailand, I was going to Dr. McGinn's office and felt almost nothing down there and on my upper lip. Ramona would treat me for almost five hours. She is so nice and is more then happy to converse about anything you like. Ramona is  like a therapist who gives amazing advice. At $65 an hour, you get an amazing operator and first class office staff. Dr. McGinn's office is tough to beat.

I was bemused by other girls needing local numbing.

Laser omg like getting snapped with a single tail whip, I was squirming around. The operator at the Laser Spa and Bar in NYC likes to have lasting results with a very strong laser. I think she has mistress potential!

I didn't get injections. Too poor. I managed to survive with just the numbing cream I applied before being zapped.
And I'm 2 years and 9 months on HRT.

I actually talked about that with the Operator. She's been doing this for 40 years and was using state of the art machines so that was cool.

Trini, congrats on going for it!  I did this backwards, after three years of hair removal (1/3 laser 2/3 electrolysis) I am about to start HRT.  Most of my electrolysis sessions have been two hours, never used any injections.  The day of my first beard clearance was three hours, and first time the South Pole was somewhat clear required 90 minutes working on that area.

It hurts way less if you do it before HRT...I started prior and after being on HRT it got worse. My pain management guy refused to play with my pain meds until my Oestrogen levels were stable because Oestrogen will Exacerbate  pain....Not the only place I have been told that.
Transition Begun 25 September 2015
HRT since 17 May 2016,
Fulltime from 8 March 2017,
GCS 4 December 2018

oh no! I was afraid of this! I only started HRT a week ago, and I have a few electrolysis appointments booked over the next few months. I've only had one so far and I didn't think the pain was that bad, kind of a bummer that it's gunna get worse lol

Not that anyone should follow my example, but I stopped anti-androgens and estrogen, 5 weeks before my srs.
Yes I consulted my endo first. The only negative is my testosterone is raging, my cock wants something from me 3 times a day. SEX ON THE BRAIN ARGH!! But the positive is my pain tolerance is very high, whacking my 34AAA petites on the door is no big deal now.
