Hello beautiful people.
Hopefully i could find someone here who have the same feelings i am having.

I am on HRT for 2 months right now.
I am on a partial dose of estradiol and  Spironolactone. Of course, my doctor started me gradually on T-blockers.
I have seen my body not giving me side effects when on estrogen, however the t-blockers make me feel dizzy , sick , and when i woke up in the morning i feel sick.

Also, on the emotional side, i worry more and scared a lot, before hormones i was always worried about everything and anxiety is my friend but now i feel everything is magnified. Is that a side effect of HRT ?

Hopefully you guys share your stories when you started HRT , and is this stage will pass and i will be okay in the future!?

Thank you.

In my experience the body will adjust and you will feel better than ever.  It just takes a while; months.  In the meantime increase your water and salt intake to keep your electrolytes in balance.  Spiro causes sodium and fluid loss and you can get low really fast causing the physical symptoms you are having.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Spironolactone has a number of side effects and if they are serious, you should discuss them with your doctor. You also need to drink plenty of water and eat more salt than normal. Potassium rich foods should be limited as spiro causes you to retain potassium. Another issues is spiro is a blood pressure medication so you may be waking up with very low blood pressure causing the dizziness. If you can measure your blood pressure before getting up, it might explain some of what you are feeling.

As for the anxiety, if you had it before, feeling ill can intensify the symptoms and it wouldn't be related to HRT.

Hi zozooo7, welcome to Susan's Place! Are you splitting the spiro dose 12 hours apart? I've had some trouble with it, my blood pressure has been silly low. With good advice from my doctor and Deborah, I've been salting everything heavily....even my salt!   See you around the site!

Like everyone else said,

Increase ur water intake and up ur salt.

I have problems with my potassium levels because I love:
Mushrooms, Potatoes, spinach, Apricots and Fish

It pays to keep a eye on ur intake levels of potassium foods otherwise you can get really sick quite easily.

It took me a while to get use to my new found emotional range but I'm so glad that I'm not the emotional rock that I use to be.

I just found out I had to drink lots of water and increase the salt intake, not an issue since I love salt.

You also may become more suspect to cramps without increasing your water intake. I have had a couple of instances since summer arrived, and we sweat more where, I have had leg cramps so bad that I became nauseated. Making sure that I maintain a constant water intake eliminates it or decreases the severity of the cramps. Hugs
