Love always -- Jess
Exactly. And while it hurts, I have found it reaffirming.

Have two letters of support in hand still does not seem real.  I was talking to my therapist about it this morning.  While truly do believe and feel that my body is not the real or complete me, I am still hesitant right now for pear of some kind of persecution from the government.  I keep waking up each day afraid that I will read that there is a new executive order or something, that will remove my  medical care or ban people like me from working for the government.    I love my job and the people I work with are awesome.    I've spent the better part of half of my life working for the government in one capacity or another and feel very strongly invested in my career and potential future retirement.  But is all that worth my discomfort now, not being the real me?

Just remember that no one is looking down your pants. Yes, like many others, your job could be in danger no matter what your gender. Do what you need to do for YOU. There are always other jobs. Losing retirement benefits is scary too. You can always wait if you are close. Other companies are accepting and offer benefits too. Take your time to decide. There is no hurry.

Thanks, Myranda--
For the past year, I have been thinking or, more accurately, daydreaming about HRT. I'm not even sure it's possible since I'm in my 70's, but sharing your journey was most helpful and informative.

My endocrinologist told me it isn't about age. I turn 68 this year. She said all that matters is your health. If you are in good health, nothing is stopping you. Unfortunately, as we age our health declines as well. Talk to your doctor and see what they say.
