Hi there,

I am new here, and would like to first say that this this website is amazing. You are all amazing with this gathering :)
I am not close yet to transtioning, I am like exploring my femininity.
Now,
I have a weird question / situation:

A few years ago I started to get itchiness at the scrotum. I saw skin doctors and they all said they don't see anything. Two of them told me this is a mental disorder. I was shocked.

I am scratching this area so much till it bleeding and I cannot stop. Every day. It is very painfull and I am dong it without the power to stop.

Can this discomfort can related to my dysphoria ?
the same period it started more or less I also discovered the online feminization hypnosis. Which I don't know if it is good or bad.

looking forward for an your opinions.

Hi Dtf and welcome to the forum!!!

Sorry for your issue!... It sounds miserable!

I have never heard of anyone with itchiness like you describe as a symptom of dysphoria... When doctors don't know what is going on, telling a patient that it is all in their head is a convenient excuse that keeps their ego as a healer intact!

Enjoy your exploration of your feminine side! Here is a little reading that might be useful...

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... I would see a dermatologist. It could be anything from a yeast infection to an STD to scabies. I highly doubt it has anything to do with being trans.

I went to see a dermatologist, a few even. They all said the same. Which made me think again. Can it be psychologically?

Does anyone experienced the same?

dtf, around mid winter I was dealing with a rash in the general area, I'd never had problems with fungal infection there but have had them in my feet on and off for years and so I assumed I could treat it with antifungals. I was getting distressingly close to my Apr GCS date in April with only minor improvements and my surgeon was clear she'd postpone surgery.

At this point I made an immediate appointment to be seen, read up some and since it hadn't responded to the antifungals, guessed it must be contact dermatitis. The RN who saw me agreed, did a quick stain test confirming no presence of fungi, prescribed me a strong topical steroid and arranged a consult with a dermatologist who agreed, switched me to a milder steroid she said would be easier on my skin and in another week all was fine.

As for it being in your head, stress is one of the causes of contact dermatitis and certainly for me December - March was an incredibly stressful time, working extremely long hours and with GCS coming up.

I get itchy like this for part of the summer due to heat. As soon as I get cool, it will pass after a Couple of hours. Hmmmm... never thought to see if allergy tablet would help. (Note to self for next time.)

Some of my siblings get what acts like a heat allergy when they play sports. They get itchy little bumps on their backs and arms, I get it where you do. Lol... drives me nuts  ;) but after a few hours of cooling down they are fine. Barring that the testicles are there of course which is a far bigger issue.
