Hej.

I'm not good at introductions, or fora, or...anything, really. I am 29 and on T (gel) for 2 months. I've read around Susan's great site for years now, but never had anything to add. Call me Nils if you like. (If you read Metal Hammer, you are now getting...images...)

*thinks for a bit*

I'm in the UK at the moment, waiting on Nottingham. We all know how long that takes, so I self-funded visits to Drs Seal & Lorimer in London earlier this year. (Yes, Dr L. is as cool as he looks on social media).

I'm out to my friends, one of my bandmates, and my b/f is fully supportive. However, my parents have been less so, so it's a subject I don't broach with them at the moment.

I'm not online every day, but about once a week I'll probably check in here. Ask me stuff if you like. I'm a professional musician, so hit me up if you're also a trans muso and fancy a whine - I'm struggling to keep the voice tamed currently.

I have vague questions for anyone who is on Testim (timelines and so forth) and would like to ask if anyone has had experience with subcutaneous pellets?

I think that's it.
Peace out and all that.

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome! (Also for the rep. VM!)  ;D

Hey; thought I'd officially welcome you  :D. I'm also on gel and it works the same as injectable T; so you'll see the same changes at around the same time frame although everyone reacts differently to T and some changes may take longer for you than others.

Btw you may want to try testogel.  I was given Testim a few times accidently by the pharmacist and I found it awful to use in comparison. It didn't really dry on the skin and my skin still felt sticky all day plus the alcohol smell was overpowering; whereas testogel dries very quickly and doesn't have much of a chemically smell.

As for pellets I haven't heard of it being available in the UK

Hi again - only two months later he replies! Sorry 'bout that.

Just wanted to say that we're all out of Testim where I am at the moment, so it looks like I might get to try Testogel after all! I find the Testim ok until I have to go out in the rain, or exercise...ick! To be sure, it would be nice to try something that doesn't clear the sinuses upon opening...

Oh, re the pellets, I thought to mention them as I'd had a look at some discussions online - seems they were often favoured by older women who wanted a bit more 'oomph' in their lives - and apparently the treatment was available here up until around 2014 and then became completely unavailable until recently. (If anyone has more information on this than my half-remembered ramblings, feel free).

You'd think 3/4 monthly ought to be less bother for medical establishments and patients alike, though what it costs, Lemmy only knows...
