Started HRT today!

This morning I had my endocrinologist appointment and he gave me my prescriptions! He started me on  Spiro and Estradiol. The pharmacy was out of Spiro and had to order some, they said it would be ready by noon tomorrow. But I got my Estrogen!! I took my first dose just over 3 hours ago I'm so happy to finally be able on HRT!! This is quite possibly the best day of my life

Well, yay for you! 

When I started I got my spiro right away and had to wait a day for the estrogen. Today is the best day of your life. The worst day of your life will happen within the next few months when you whack one of those shirt puppies on something solid!

Thank you everybody! I got my Spiro early yesterday morning. Today was my second day taking them both together Obviously after 3 days I'm not going to be feeling any changes really yet but mentally I already feel a lot better. HRT isn't just a goal or something I want to do anymore, it's something I'm actively doing, and that makes me so happy I heard that emotional changes can start happening after just a couple weeks? Some people have told me that by the 2 week mark they were already crying over every little thing so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? What were the first changes that all of you started feeling?

Yes, definitely on the emotional roller coaster.  I was confronted by a bully for something minor at about that time and I had to walk away since I started to cry.  It's a very real thing and not something you can plan for.  It will surprise the hell out if you.  Now that I recognize it I can control it a bit better.  That first time though.  I was well, a little girl!

I also just started my prescription four days ago.  Very happy for you - I certainly am with my results so far.  No physical changes yet of course, but wow the changes to sensory perception are unexpected and I absolutely love the way I feel. 

I must have been like an old dry board sitting out in the sun, thirsty.  And yes I spelled that correctly.

Suddenly being more patient was the first sign for me, I think.  There have been a whole bunch of changes, some of them a bit subtle.  Some girls get drastic changes even on a low dosage like I'm taking, too.

I haven't been crying whole Mississippi Rivers of tears or anything - I was more upset before starting HRT a few weeks ago, actually - I just noticed the tears seem to be coming out of slightly smaller ducts - your skin's pores tighten up, and perhaps this is a related phenomenon?  Your vision can even change after a while.

HRT mellowed me out in the first few days and it has just gotten better since. Now at 11 months and 13 days, I am happy with the changes. C size breasts, a much better formed butt. Soft clear skin. Considering the acne I used to have, it looks much better. I have been getting electrolysis and about half done and my hair is back to hippie length. If you have a support group near you, I recommend going. It helped me realize I was not alone. For the first time I have a sense of belonging and not just odd. Oh by the way, Hippie is the term used for my generation, that wanted to change the world. You are on the cusp of changing the world for the better. Equality is a right. Expressing oneself is Freedom outlined in the Constitution.

My mental well being was established 3 days on Spiro alone.  First physical signs on day 12 of E was awaking up thinking "okay, I can't sleep on my stomach now". 

My first "whack" was putting my work ID in my shirt pocket and scraping it.  OMG!  I both loved it and well actually just loved it.  Hurt like hell and never did it again but wow was I surprised.

I am so excited to finally be started on day 3 I find myself trying to parse out what are real changes I'm feeling and what are the placebo effects. I definitely feel much happier though already. And I feel like my head is maybe just the slightest bit clearer
