Helloooooooooooo...

First post. My name is Maia. I'm a 46yr young pre-op trans woman living in Melbourne, Australia.
I've struggled with GD in some form or another since I was ten but have more of a handle on it these days. I've been on hormones and in counselling since 2010. Hopefully, I'll be having surgery late next year though that may turn out to be ambitious.

I decided to join this forum so I can shove my opinion in everyone's face and maybe learn a thing or two as well. Usually, my fave sub-trans topics are SRS & other medical procedures, shopping for tall girls, Melbourne resources & communities, and Game Of Thrones. Oh wait, GOT isn't a trans topic.

That's all for now as my cat is demanding to be fed.
;D

Hi Maia!

I am also MTF but started transition later than you.  You seem to be on a solid path to your destination, I bet you have some interesting stories.

I live in the US and visited Melbourne in 1993 and in 2016.  I was amazed at the growth between those two visits.  Beautiful city with many friendly people.

Hi Maia,

I'm Laurie MtF and an unofficial greeter for Susan's place. I'd like to welcome you to Susan's  provided you don't do any shoving. I'd prefer a friendly hug myself. Come on in and be one with the site. Game of Thrones was a very good series in book form. I can't give an opinion on the show as I don't get that channel. One channel I do get is this one, Susan's Place, here we are all about doing what we can to help others with their trans issues. Here we share both the good and the not so good experience as each can be of help to someone else. I hope you too will avail yourself to the information and support we have here.

  Again, Welcome to Susan's Place

Hugs,
   Laurie

I'm very lucky to be located here. Melbourne may not be perfect but for the trans community let's just say it could be a lot worse, plus it generally gets better and better each year with LGBTI acceptance.  :)

Awww - thank you!  I'm actually a bit self-conscious of my current avatar photo, my skin is shiny because this was for the VirtualFFS analysis and they only allow eye makeup.  Three photos with hair pulled back for analysis, plus this 4th photo with hair down.  I decided to use it for my avatar because I'll be posting VirtualFFS analysis photos in the FFS area.

I don't know anyone else who has done this in the same sequence.  Electrolysis, Bellafill semi-permanent filler, upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and micro-needling at a cosmetic surgery clinic.  All before HRT.  Electrolysis made a huge difference - not just eliminating stubble but removing roots and having skin re-grow without all those little craters.  My beard was very thick and is now gone for good.  I am half Welsh and had a dark reddish beard, unusual for someone who is half Japanese.

Wow cool mix of races.

Along with SRS I'm planning on getting butt implants, however, to avoid making forum members nauseous, I will refrain from having a profile pic of my butt. lol

Hi Maia!

I'm up the road in Queensland. I used to live in Melbourne and all my siblings are still living in Victoria. I occasionally visit when I can tear myself away from my Qld home  ;D
