Hello Jonas and welcome!
The subject line of your introduction warms my heart... waking up here in Seattle and seeing you have typed "My real me" is simple but powerful.
I had the pleasure of visiting Zurich 25 years ago and driving across Switzerland 15 years ago. The mountains are amazing of course, and the cities so well-organized and sensible compared to other places I have been. I hope to visit again and spend more time.
I am MTF but in many ways our path is similar. I have two step-children. Yesterday I had lunch with my 25 year old son and told him I am transgender. He never hesitated and took the news just like any other accomplishment. I wish the world was this way but there is hope - the younger generation seems to be far more accepting of us. He asked if I had told his sister and I told him I didn't need to. She is currently 23 and is the only person who figured this out quite awhile ago - she noticed eyeliner in my car several years ago and asked a year ago if I am transgender. At the time I immediately said yes, but then I asked - it could have been anyone's eyeliner? She said she just knew, and told me everything is quite alright.
I owned a sailboat in the 1990s. I had no idea those things are so complicated. Some things look simple until you get into the details. But with transition I have found every detail is easily worth it as I have been discovering the real me.
