Hi, I'm aimless. I'm new, and have some questions about posting stuff and topics and all that. I'm looking for answers about ftm hrt at planned parenthood and was wondering someone could help me find that? Sorry, I'm hopeless at finding stuff. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Susan's Place. The FTM stuff is located here however most of the planned parent hood discussion takes place in the MTF section. PPP works on an informed consent model which means they spend about an hour evaluating you and then you agree that any results are your responsibility. The catch is that only a few locations provide transgender support but they are adding to the list. You can look at their web site for the latest information on a location near you.

Welcome, aimlesswanderer! I hope that being here will be a little less aimless for you  ;D

I live in Australia so I can't give you any advice about the Planned Parenthood approach to T treatment. But we do the informed consent method here too, which is a very good approach.

Looking forward to learning more about you in the future!

I tried Planned Parenthood for FTM hormone therapy, but the local one is pretty shoddily run. Plus my insurance was good for the clinic, but not the doctor, so I ended up paying quite a bit out of pocket. I feel bad complaining about that part, but I'm trying to get out of debt before I have any surgeries and that was a setback for me.

The therapy the doctor prescribed wasn't right for me, but thankfully, my pharmacist told me about compounding pharmacies, which gave me the ability to get topical testosterone instead of injecting, but for a decent enough price.

I don't intend to go back to Planned Parenthood. I supported the organization for years, but actually going there myself sort of soured me against it. Just badly run. Uncooperative. Passive-aggressive staff. I had expected way too much from them in terms of helping transgender people. I mean, their reputation for that...you know?

If you are in a red state or rural area, maybe still consider them. I got care, after all.

thanks for the warning. The pp in my area didnt get the best reviews either. I'm probably not gonna go to them.
