I'm transgender and idk where to start and what to do

Hey everyone i'm 16 tunring 17 and i'm sure i'm transgender i was born male but i'm sure that the right gender i want is female i've felt like this since i was 13 and I'm starting to become stressed and very worried about how ny life is going to look. If anyone out there can help that would be great

I was wondering what my steps are i haven't told anyone except my two closest friends and they are urging me to do something. I don't want to tell my parents rn but i want to get to a transition but again idk where or what to do

You better tell your parents. If you'd be waiting, you'd be both losing a few very important years and seriously damaging your relationships with your parents in the long run.

If you come out to them now and they are not supportive, you can play it back and pretend it was a phase. But then, you will have a solid reason to be cautious around them or keep them away from your life.

Once you tell to your parents, they might be ok to let you go to a psychologist who dealt with gender issues before. And you might be able to start testosterone-blockers asap (with endocrinologist monitoring) - that wouldn't make your boobs grow or anything, but will stop you growing in the male pattern and give you more time to think of your life choices.

Socially, you might come out in school as a gay. I don't think there's such a huge stigma attached to it as it used to be.

Welcome to Susan's Place Victoria. Telling your parents and seeing a gender therapist are the first steps you should take. As for what your life will be like, nobody can say. If you remain as you are, you will continue to feel the way you do and it will get worst over time. Many of the people on this site range in age from 40 to 70 however they made the decision not to face this when they were younger. The have finally reached the point where transitioning is their only option. Transitioning at a younger age is better because Testosterone continues to alter your looks making transitioning more difficult and more expensive. If you have questions, feel free to ask them and we will do our best to answer them.

Ah, yes the magic age of 13 when dysphoria decides to pop its head out. Been there and done that too. I would day you did the first step by coming here . As other have probably mentioned try seeing a gender therapist if you are able to.

Well, the first step is knowing how to call that feeling. There's no point in hiding it from your parents if you consider transitioning.
At your age hormones can do magic, so I recomend starting as soon as possible. With that I mean as soon as YOU feel it's time to start.

If you're not sure yet, there are lots of things you can do to look female withouth starting medical tratments or irreversible surgeries. See if you feel better looking that way...
