In search of a surgeon: Please share your experiences with surgeons from EU

Anyone with experiences with (specifically) surgeons from EU? I know a lot about Thailand,  US and Serbia,  but I am in need of one from EU because of my medical insurance..

Welcome to Susan's Place. I was going to move your thread where it would get more responses but I am a bit confused where to move it. I assume you are MTF but I don't know the type of surgery you are interested it. We have a good sized population of UK member and a fair number of them are working with the UK medical system. If you provide a bit more information, I was see what I can do about getting you more responses.

Thank you so much for you response and thoughts! I'm interested in grs (mtf), but I found it hard to find information/experiences about good surgeons in the EU (perhaps it's also just all overwhelming?) Is there any other information that could be useful to you in answering? I live in the Balkans btw. Hope you can help me out

Ok, I moved you to Gender Correction Surgery where you may find some posts about surgeons in the UK. It will be more likely for somebody from the UK to see your post and respond. I really don't know much about the surgeons as I am in the U.S.A and my surgery was in 1982 so I leave that to the other members.

There are a couple of good surgeons in the EU, but please do be careful as almost all EU surgeons provide the standard run-in-the-mill penile inversion technique, which is deprecated and yields sub-par results.

The good surgeons who carry out a non-inversion technique not too different from what Suporn and Chettawut offer are:

- Dr. Schaff in Munich, Germany. See this post on my own SRS experience with him
- Dr. Djninovic in Belgrade, Serbia
- Dr. Hess in Essen, Germany
- Dr. Schrögendorfer in Vienna, Austria

All of these surgeons provide the technique Dr. Schaff invented in 2008, which in turn is an adaptation of Suporn's technique. Schaff has the most experience, but Djinovic also seems to produce some amazing results. Furthermore, Dr. Hess has started offering this technique in 2015 after learning it from Schaff, and Dr. Schrögendorfer offers it since 2013.

Good luck choosing! The prices are pretty similar for most of them, it's a two step procedure that should clock in around 15-20k Euros.
