Hi girls, I recently read a fabulous day by day post by one of us that had srs in Thailand, I believe May of this year.  I can't find it again, but in the post she said that she wouldn,t be afraid to go over by herself for the surgery.  I wanted to re-read the early post op days as it didn't seem too bad and I wanted to get a better handle on how soon she started moving around, etc.  My problem is that I have an opportunity to go in Feb. of 2018 and really want to, but my wife has some real problems getting out of work and someone really needs to keep an eye on the homestead here, especially for a month.  I've traveled abroad quite a bit and have no problem getting along in foreign countries, but am I kidding myself regarding just how independent I will be able to be for two or three weeks post op?  Can one really comfortably go it alone at the better That clinics?  The key is "comfortably".  I know some have but most don't.  Your thoughts please.  Toni

Hi Toni, I had my SRS about 18 months ago in thailand and did it all on my own. I think most of the clinics are pretty supportive and to be honest at least for the first week or so out of hospital id be taking it a bit easy with a netflix binge. After that just think of yourself as a normal tourist and just see the sights and have delights. Just listen to your body and rest when you need. Thailand also has widely available internet so its very easy to phone home if you are getting homesick.

Hope that helps

Hi Chrissym, thanks much for the reply!  That's what I was thinking, but I know everyone's different regarding their comfort level in a strange country as well as their surgery/healing issues.  I have very little apprehension about just going over and then coming back "different".  In some ways I almost prefer doing things that way, just a quiet, very personal event.  Hope you're doing well and are pleased with the new you!  Toni
