So, I am a 27 year old MTF. I am out to most of family and close friends, but not my younger half-brother.

He's 13 years old, and we have never lived together. I don't know how to even begin. I worry that our lack of closeness bothers him, and that this might push us apart.

My other concern is that he had social problems in school and has been bullied a fair bit, and if it were to become known that he a trans sibling (he's VERY talkative and tells people everything) that things might become even worse for him.

Any thoughts?

Not knowing him or the family situation, it is hard to say what the best approach might be.

If he has been bullied in school, it is possible that he would appreaciate having someone "different" in his life to whom he might be able to talk.  I don't know about you, but many of us have had experience being bullied.  He might relate.

Just a thought.

I have no idea if he has ever even heard the term transgender.
