There's trans women everywhere and they don't pass

Have you ever paid attention to women in the street? I'm sure you have... unless I'm weird . Well there's a lot of trans women, with their wide eyebrows, and their square chins and their totally male-looking faces, yet they have long hair (some) and are wearing women clothes. They problably don't worry about passing or not, or maybe they do, but there they are living their real lifes and getting on with the difficulties.

In all seriousness, of course they're all probably cis but it gives you a new perspective on the "Will I pass?" issue. There's a lot of cis out there that "don't pass", yet no one cares.

Most trans women don't pass. As for cis women, it's about 20% or so that don't pass from what I've encountered. Some cis women, just look bad. An example of this is Michelle Carter who is a cis women but has very masculine features.

Most TSes I have met in person don't pass 100%... My standard is thst if I can read them then some non-trees will be able to as well...but one can nor judge only by those they have met.

Like tends to associate with like... and I don't pass 100% and I have always said that...'

In my experience those who pass very well, and  particularly those who are mostly stealth  tend to only associate with others who pass as well as they do, and if they are stealth only a very few if any.

While in some ways that is unfortunate, I totally understand why that is, and I can't begrudge them that. Most who transition and have surgery don't do it to be TS, we do it because we know ourselves to be women and want to lives our lives as normal woman *IF POSSIBLE*. The disappearing post-op phenomenon is real, and is just people getting on with their lives, tried of all the drama.

So if  one  does not pass well (or goes  around saying you don't and never will), your likelihood of meeting those who are very passable is very small... given that I can't judge how many/ what percent pass that well . I think it is a minority - but I have no way of knowing for sure - and neither do you because of how you talk about yourself.

At least that is how I see it.

I've been living in Thailand since 2010, where hormones aren't often used by transgender people and mixed gender presentations are acceptable-men with beards in dresses for instance. I don't have to know someone's gender anyway, since people self-gender with reflexive pronouns as they speak.

In the US, I wouldn't try to gender masculine-appearing women because many bull dykes dress and behave like men while identifying as female and ciswomen routinely dress in men's clothing. I suppose an obvious Adam's apple might be a clue, but transwomen can have them shaved, or hide them with a scarf.
