Well done
Sounds like you're on the right road now, best of luck.

I encourage you to take your time and do what is right for you.

Oh, definitely. Like I told the therapist, I don't like doing things at 100 mph.

On one hand, it's nice your doc isn't playing gatekeeper and letting you decide to make the decision. On another, it might seem that you're rushed down to transformation. HRT becomes visible really soon and if you don't want to come out publicly and transition, then maybe you shouldn't start hormones.

Although, HRT is somewhat a diagnostic tool by itself. You'll notice your changes first and will be able to stop it before those changes are too pronounced.

I suppose I should clarify a bit. A large part of the conversation was about me wanting to turn off my strong and constant male sex drive. It is one of the worst parts of my gender dysphoria experience. She mentioned that hormone therapy can be effective at that, but I was was scared about overt feminization from it. That was when she suggested contacting the endocrinologist. She is not an endocrinologist and wants me to speak with one to better understand what can and cannot be achieved with hormone treatment and what side effects I need to know about.

I would not say she pushed it. It was just an avenue that our discussion went down that she thinks I should learn more about.
