Wow Violet you look so happy in your photo, I can totally relate.  I am MTF, not as far along but have been enjoying the upside of taking charge of my life.  I started HRT just 16 days ago but have worked on other things for the past 3 years.  I'm in the state just north of you.  Oregon doesn't have sales tax and Washington State adds 10% - if I subtract sales tax we are the same age. ;)

I bet you have a ton of experiences to share.  I found a wealth of information here that has directly impacted my decisions, confidence and speed of transition.  In turn I am hoping others can benefit from things I have experienced - I have discovered this is all so much easier once you know the right people.

Welcome to Susan's!

Thank You Kendra! You look very pretty! Oh yes, I have some stories to tell!
To date I have received 12 death threats while out in public. Somehow I just always seem to run into mean people when I am out there. Probably because I am always smiling and dancing on the sidewalks to my mp3's. I have been told that in addition I dress like a whore, but I can't help myself. I love my clothes and makeup even though I do stick out!

Very nice to meet you here honey! Maybe soon all of us west coast chicks can have a get together. I would love to meet all my sisters face to face! ♥

I am so sorry you experienced that.  I have never encountered that level of hostility.  I've actually had more problems over the years when I presented as my assigned birth gender (racial issues can add a dimension to this), but I know many in the transgender community have encountered stunning levels of bigotry and worse.

Your smile is genuine because you are living as you.  You look great.  You are helping make the world a better place.

I don't always like to conform with the social norm.  If I did, I wouldn't have started down the road of transition.  But I have been paying attention to what other women wear in various settings - I am considering how I will make the big switch at the office and I don't want to cause traffic accidents in the hallway. ;)

I'll try, but I'll have to hitch hike. I don't have a car any more so I am stuck on the south side (where nothing seems to happen)  I would like to meet you too!

No problems. I see I missed two others. I will pull those but like I said, if you make it part of your signature, it will always be there legally. Just as long as the site the link leads to conforms to our rules as well. If you go up to the profile menu, you should be able to navigate to forum settings. That will allow you to create   a personal signature. That's where you can place that link.

Warmly,

Jacqui
