For anyone who has been in transition for a long time but decided to detrans after it didn't work out, how did it go?
I've been in transition for 5+ years with hrt, ffs and still get clocked despite having a good voice and mannerisms. I'm deciding to detrans because I don't pass and it hurts a lot.

That is awful. I almost detransitioned once, due to fear and self hate really. Those days seem to be gone and hopefully will never ever return. The truth is you got to do you.

I will give you an insight to my ''detransition'' that i tried to attempt last year but first I want to ask some questions! You say you have been on HRT for 5 years, that is long! I mean I only came out 3 years ago, got hormones 2 years ago, gave up for a super short period of time, came back on and already about 7 or 8 months later look female. Getting ma'am like its going out of style!.. so that leads me to ask, is your dosage high enough? You can not give your dosage amount here  as it is agasint the rules but to get good results, from other i have seen a higher doasge seems to do the trick. Maybe up it? Have you gotten laser hair done too? that helps. Im unsure how else to help, but if you wish to detransition take it slowly..

I tried, i really did. But all that happened was going back into booze and even self harm. I would be so anxious I would vomit. I had to go to the hospital due to the anxiety and stress... Now living female, i dont have that. Do what u must do, but realize de-transition is hard, a very very hard road. If you can do it all the best, but it takes a lot of thinking about.

Somebody who detransitions is welcome here but there are questions to be considered. I would have a difficult time with it because I remember how uncomfortable I was as a male. Yes I am not happy getting misgendered now but it would be far worst if I had to live with a steady diet of it. Not long ago, I noticed misgendering had started up again so I took a good hard look at myself. I discovered my voice had always been a problem and 10 years of being off HRT had affected my facial structure. In addition, my hair style and fashions could use a little work. Not everybody can see problems in their presentation and we are willing to help if you wish to approach it from that direction. It will be your decision as to the path you wish to pursue and we will do what we can to help you.
