Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being....  - Dan Barker

You can't be a soldier while relying on HRT.  The problem is HRT does not equal Trans.  There needs to be more clarification, but I appreciate Trump keeping me out of the military, although I was disqualified since I have been a child due to other conditions.

I'm in the military, and I'm actually about to board a flight to go to Lackland afb for all of next week to see medical providers, get labs done, and to develop a transition plan. However, getting surgery at this time while serving seems to be off the table...

Hey all, I've created a new account because my life has begun anew.  This is to protect my identity.  Thanks for your understanding!

This is about more than soldiers.

"After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,"

That language doesn't seem ambiguous to me. It seems to clearly include DoD civilians, which number over 700,000 personnel supporting the warfighter across all the services.

I am a Navy civilian and I have deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of counter-IED efforts to protect our troops.  There is nothing about being transgender that would prevent me from doing my job, either stateside or overseas. I am proud to be able to serve my country.

I find it quite ironic that someone like you, who does not even want to serve our country, is okay with a policy that would prevent people like me, having advanced skills and very specialized training and wants to support our military, from doing so.

You appreciate Trump seeking to foreclose service or career opportunities to people because they are trans?  Really?  With all due respect, that position doesn't seem well reasoned.

I serve this country every single day as a private citizen. And please
Don't put words in my mouth by saying that I don't want to serve this country. I never said that. Thank you.

I only agree with the basic tenant that I originally posted about. The official policy has not been put in place yet and I will have an updated opinion when that happens. Is that fair?
