I'm getting GRS in early December. I plan on taking 8 weeks off work following surgery. I'd also eventually like to get rhinoplasty. Since I'm going to be off work anyway, I was wondering if it made sense to try to schedule rhinoplasty during my GRS recovery. For example, I could get GRS, recover for 6 weeks, get rhinoplasty, then recover from both surgeries for 2 weeks, and then go back to work. Of course, I will only seriously consider this plan if my GRS surgeon authorizes it.

So, assuming my surgeon gives the okay, how crazy is this plan? For people who have received GRS - at six weeks, would you have been ready for another surgery? I know sometimes people get other surgeries simultaneously with GRS. So this seems less extreme than that at least...

Thoughts?

That's placing the surgeries a bit close together so you should check with both doctors. You only need a couple of days off for your nose as long as you don't mind wearing a nose cast for a week after surgery. Possibly get surgery on a Friday, recover over the week end and return to work monday.

I have had multiple surgeries, FFS, tummy tuck and brachiaplasty all about 2 months apart. I had my GCS about 8 months before the FFS. Yes, it is a bit much, but I am in excellent health for my age, which is 67.

A rhinoplasty can be done as outpatient surgery and can heal in a week or two. GCS takes several months to heal enough to comfortably walk and sit up straigt enough to go back to work, depending on what you do for employment.

I see no problem in doing the rhinoplasty 6 or 7 weeks after GCS.
