A gay woman friend of mine  is celebrating 25 years clean and sober today and she is having a party tonight where I assume it will be womyn only. We have arranged to have a surprise Belly Dancer for her. It should be way cool.

Sounds fun. Do a shot of tequila with salt and lemon for me. ;)

Hi, Melissa,

Please give her my congrats!  I have been sober since September 6, 2002.

I'd love to hear how the party went.

It is a feminist/lesbian spelling of the word "woman."  I can see why some of us chafe having the word "man" or "men" in our gender name.

Hope this helps.

"Womyn" frequently is a shorthand though for WbW, (Women born Women).  As in "The Michigan Womyn's Music Festival.  On the other hand, its 2007 and looking at any current music chart, its obvious that everyone has forgot how to spell.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

LOL of course, that would be me. Hee hee. Ever notice that a lot of separatists Lesbians look and act more like "men" than most of us do?

Anyway, it was a great party and, as I assumed all women, I never had a single moment that I felt uncomfortable or out of place there even when the discussion lead to talking about menopause. I don't think that would have been possible even six months ago.

The woman who hosted in the party is one of the most popular girls in the San Francisco AA circles, (This is a very large social group as it is astounding how many recovering dykes there are here) So now, I am kinda in with "in crowd."

The Belly Dancer was phenomenal, "Alice" was completely surprised. I will post some pics later.
