Have you found that as your female hormones have increased, so has your urge to shop for clothes? I have! I now also have an almost uncontrollable urge to find bargains in the clearance rails and seconds'... I can only assume that this is my female side taking over... but is this a common side effect... or is it only me who seems to have an over-active boobtube synapse?

uh, i did before... i always enjoyed shopping, unless it was for boys clothes *curses parents*
I dont think hrt changed me, or you, i think its your expectation that you will change, so you do so as not to dissapoint yourself. physchosematic symptoms of illness and of medications are very common, especially when the patient is expecting some result.

I hated shopping for clothes before. Everytime I get on E, the shoes just seem to come out of nowhere. I cannot have enough shoes. Its insane. I want knee high boots, flats, flipflops, sandals, heels, pumps....it never ends. DSW Shoes...omg. Its like 3 acres of nothing but shoes.... :icon_help:

If the shoe fits, buy it in every color.

I too experienced the shopping phenomenon when I started my transition.  My psychologist explained it.  Its been a while but it comes down to this: While in my male role I didn't care much about my appearance.  Now I want to look nice as a female.

I used to care less about shoes.  I always had two pairs of sneakers.  One to wear while out and one for cutting grass.  I would replace them only when a pair fell apart.  Now I can't get enough shoes.

As a male, sometimes I would intentionally mismatch my clothes because I didn't want to appear feminine.  Now I make sure everything matches.

I can't afford to buy any clothes or shoes but I do what I can with what I have.

I always loved shopping for my femme clothes...alot. When I was dressing part time I always seemed to dress up so my wardrobe was rather limited in style...dresses and heels. Now that I have to get dressed ever day I never seem to have the "right" clothes, shoes or accessories. Now I shop for everything from nice dresses to sweats and my credit cards all have flattened numbers from use. I think the increase in my shopping is mostly because of the variety of clothes I need now and not anything related to my new situation.
