Hi Robin, I'm a MTF UK girl. I can't see that anyone has answered you about the NHS route. There is a published pathway on the GMC website, but essentially your GP can refer you to one of the regional NHS gender identity clinics (GICs); the referral form is on the NHS GIC website. Not all GPs are good at this, but it's your right, so don't let them tell you otherwise!
The GIC wait times are ridiculous, so I'd get a referral now, and then use the time to work on other things.
