I have a consultation next Wednesday for a laser hair removal place.  I was wondering though, how much it costed you guys for how many sessions, and how many sessons did it take for you to be finished for the most part.  The only place I actually can grow facial hair right now is my chin and a couple spots on my neck really, so it's not a lot to get done for the most part, but I wanted to start it and not hope on HRT to make it go away out of sheer profound luck :P

Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks everyone!

Also, this is a place where they don't deal with trans people, and I'm not living full time or anything yet, so I'm sort of curious how they'll take it when I tell them, "I want my all my facial hair removed."  That will also be pretty curious to see their responses heh.

If it's just the chin and cheeks, you're looking at about $800 at most.  I find that the cost really shouldn't be an issue.   What you should be concerned about is getting a doctor that knows what they're doing.  A lot of people think laser hair removal is (procedurally) simple, and it is, but knowing how to monitor irritation and use the appropriate strength at the appropriate intervals is vital to preventing nasty...  accidents.

My doctor has been doing this and other cosmetic work for 15 years.  I spent $1,000 total on my facial hair.  His payment plan is very good.  I pay $300 up front, then two installments of $200 and then two installments of $150.  After that, every treatment is only $30, as many as needed.  Since I'm going to need about four more, I am happy with this.

Do research.  If you have a bad feeling about a place, don't go.  Depending on where you live, there could be several options to choose from.

I've been doing some decent research I believe.  This place is a medical center that does plastic surgery and cosmetics only.  So, I'm hoping because of that and being in business for years and being full of doctors and licensed people, they'll know what they're doing.  Of course, I can be wrong, I'll find out when I talk with them sometime.  And thanks for the price estimate, I was looking at their prices and it was actually going to be right around that.  So, if I have faith in them, it won't be TOO expensive I don't think.

$450 for each of the first 6 sessions, around $120 after that. Most of it was gone by 8 sessions, but I went for like 10 or so just to get stragglers (literally just a couple dozen by then).

My area (near Philadelphia) is more pricey than most though.

Keep in mind most are willing to negotiate price. Just get some competitor's prices and ask 'em to match it.

My doc told me many men come in to have at least their necks cleared. He really didn't care WHY I wanted to clear it all, he just wanted to be sure he understood what I meant. He told me, "you realize you're going to look like a pre-pubescent boy, right?" LOL... well, not exactly doc, lol...

I told him what I was doing after a few sessions though, just to make sure he cleared all the appropriate areas. He was fine with it. Besides, by the last few sessions I was living as Kate, so.... ;)

Thanks Kate, I enjoyed reading your post :)

I'll be sure to find some other companies prices to give them a comparisn and see if I can get anything out of them if I decide on going with the place.

Well  the other day I made a called to Cosmetics Lasers of Lawrenceburg tn, I don't know if this is a chain or what? I lady I talk to said for my beard it would be $652 for 3 to 4 treatments and for the back of my neck  $517 for 3 to 4. She also said lasers would not remove blond hair.  Is that expensive for laser treatment? If anybody had this done how painful can be?

I get my hair removal done at a beauty school. 50$ per half hour. The lady did my face, arms, chest, back, whole upper body (except underarms, working on that elsewhere) for 100$.

It's like getting a haircut at a barber's school.

I posted this somewhere else... but I am having laser done by a lady who does it from her basement. I was skeptical too when I first started but I am extremely pleased with the results so far. I have only had 2 treatments with her so more time is needed before I give my final verdict. I'm paying 370.00ca for 6 treatments, I use to pay 320.00ca for 1 treatment "such a rip off". The house is fairly new and is vary clean, she does other stuff to like electrolisis, skin resurfacing etc. At this point in time I would highly recommend anyone considering laser to go to someone with the new lasers like the "2007 SHR by Alma Lasers". The results are excellent less painful and leave vary little redness. It's an in motion laser so it gets more follicles too and I have been told it's equal or better than all previous lasers. But I'm not hair free yet this is just my experience up to now.

$1,050 for 5 sessions (full face and neck).  50% off all additional sessions.  Apogee Elite device administered by an RN under physician's supervision.

I had a few consults and found that prices vary A LOT.

My first visit cost me nothing. The clinic I go to is run by a qualified doctor and she did a patch test to see how my skin would react. Before she did that she spent upwards of an hour discussing things with me and explaining what the options were. She is of the opinion that I will need at least 10 treatments at £175 per session, total £1,750 (in US dollars that's about $357 per session, total $3,570).

Wow, places here in colorado quote on thier websites:

Buy 5 sessions get the 6th free.

Lip and chin $250 total $50 a session

Legs $400 a session, $2000 Total 6 sessions (complete legs)

Arms at $100 a session.

I guess prices here are so much less, I mean who would pay $350+ for one session????  On the face, here they do the entire legs for that

Hi, I had a consultation for laser hair removal (in the UK) and they told me the price for the full beard area was £594 for 6 treatments or £125 seperately. They also said i could get a student discount and have 6 treatments for £475. I could also get 20% of the first treatment (if paid for seperately) and then 10% off each treatment after that.
