Workplace measure faces tough road

Some criticize the bill for leaving out transgender workers, that is, cross-dressers and others whose appearance doesn't match their sex at birth.
"It is at least considered a symbolic victory that it passed the House, but it came at a cost of creating a considerable amount of dissension within the gay community," said David Reed, president of the Tarrant County Lesbian and Gay Alliance. "Some felt that a bill that didn't include gender identity was inadequate.
