Adams apple reduction

Hey again all :3
I was wondering about the old shaving of the apple
Mines is rather small, and my SRS doctor who also does this says it would not be worth the scar to risk it.
I get that for sure, but it still bugs me.
Like a few days ago I uploaded a pic to Instagram, think it was a nice pic. And only today do I realise that you can see that damn lump. It actually looks like two lumps :S

Now what I'm wondering is, is it possible to have it shaved down withought having a neck scar, is there an alternative point of entry that could never be visible? And who and where could a Dr that does this be found.
I do scar, I have darkish skin and for some reason scars do seem to show up easy.
Any help would always be appreciated.

I had the tracheal shave before I began electrolysis. I'm not aware of what risks there are, but I had not read of anyone experiencing a problem. The procedure was 15 minutes...and the scar is not even noticeable. Dr. Brassard not only did my tracheal, but a few years later my GCS.
There were only two things I was dysphoric about early in transition: my height and my Adam's apple. I got over my height with time.

It is acceptable for CIS women to have a small what appears to be an adams apple. What you see is their larynx which can't be shaved without damaging the voice. The adams apple is a growth on top the larynx which could extend about half an inch or 1.5 cm beyond the larynx. This can be removed without damaging the voice. There is another approach that FFS surgeons use and that to make the scar between the top of the neck and in the back of the jaw. It means lifting more skin but the natural fold could make it much less visible.

It's not clear in your image but it appears that your larynx is what's showing. If this is the case, remove could cause voice issues.

I believe it was around 3k...maybe 4...can't remember. What's sort of neat...I was awake while they did the procedure. I swear...they had made the incision from ear to ear...but couple days later when I took off the bandage...it was like an inch at the max. It was recommended to buy Vitamin E gels...squeeze out the stuff inside and rub on the scar daily. Within six months the scar was all but gone.

By the way, it's not to seperated lumps of cartilage is it?
I though an Adams apple was just the outer shell of the larynx that swells due to testosterone influence?

The shell of the larynx maintains it's inter shape but the adams apple grows on the outside. Proper surgery removed the excessive growth and returns it to it's original line. If excessive material is removed, it weakens the structure and lowers the voice. This is a surgery where it's better to leave a little than take to much.

   I know this probably won't help but I would love to have an adam's apple as small as yours look. Mine is a lot bigger and therefore one on the bigger things I dislike about my body. Even as a younger boy I hated how much mine sticks out. I would very much like to be rid on mine.
  As far as the picture goes Rachel, you look like a lovely young lady in it. Lovely indeed. I do not usually pay attention to the how do I look threads let alone comment in them. But I have to say I like your picture.

Word! I learned it is one think to dislike being stuck male and spending much of ones time wishing to be female. But if you dont accept it, and own it nothing will do you good. I am on the trail of accepting that girl inside and each day gets better , ps you look beautiful Rachel!! I always envy your looks and personally dont think that and ''apple'' is going to make or break you, from all the pics I have seen I havent seem anything that truly stands out. In addition, I recall in grade 7 seeing a Cis-girl in my class have a neck that looked like it had a lump or so but she was all female, just like you!

Granted, I never had to battled that insecurity as I was born is a fat neck i guess

It's quite frustrating. I wish there was a way in ther that would not leave a mark. It would be a rather good frist surgery to try. I'm super nervous of surgery

It's funny it doesn't look bad in your photo. I have aunts with necks really quiet the same.
I think on my neck it just stands out a little. Which is annoying because it's just enough that I may have to risk a scar D:

Scars are just scars. With proper after care it fades pretty much to non existant. (Me personally Im covered in them head to toe. They're my tiger stripes. ^.^)
In a conversation with my speech pathologist, we got on this subject and I stated I want it done, and that my surgeon does it along with SRS FFS and basically everything else. She simply cautioned me on the obvious risk of tone changes and that I would be in better hands to have it done by a surgeon thats also an ENT (Ear nose and throat) specialist or to just do my homework with researching the surgeon ahead of time and if they allow for reviews to read through them all.

Like you I have a slender neck and its getting even more slender with the months on HRT passing. This makes for my wee little bump to appear more prominent. (I learned to be pretty sneaky 'swallowing' my adams apple for photos ect but thats a bandaid fix.)

I can probs dig into my girlfriends 'scar reduction' arsenal she uses on me if that sets your mind at ease with a few products. (Ive had third degree burns vanish in weeks to nothingness.)
