When you're hired into a high profile, brand ambassador type role, you accept that your opinions are given a megaphone and it's important that you consider the implications of your statement on the brand (and hence, your future employment).

I don't have a lot of sympathy for this to be honest. It's a predictable response to someone representing a brand (whether trans or otherwise) making those comments in a public forum.

Her message regarding racism,  although commendable, wasn't delivered very well.  "All white people are racist"?  It's not my fault that I'm white and I'm certainly not personally responsible that society has unfortunately evolved to give me privilege....it also doesn't automatically make me a racist.  That's just not fair, just like it wouldn't be fair or accurate for me to say other races are racist for trying improve their position to equality. Being transgender has no influence on her being fired, but unfairly slandering an entire race while representing a global brand, that is.

 This all sounds bad and on the whole I think it is. However, what Munroe Bergdorf says in her response on Facebook which you can read in the article Stephanie linked in her second post here, I have to agree with. Additionally the very last part of the article explains that Munroe Bergdorf was baited into making the statements she did by a white supremacist.
 
  My own personal opinion is that though I do not really like to hear what she says, I cannot disagree with it.
