Chester Jones

Hello, all.

I have been reading through these forums and have appreciated the perspectives of various members. Thank you for creating this resource.

For most of my life, my interests have been intellectual in nature. I have always known that I am male, though at most, I have only had to put up with inconvenience of being referred to by the incorrect name, pronoun, or honorific. Though grating, this has been manageable. I have been able to focus on the content of the conversation or the task at hand.

Recently, I have begun seeing someone and enjoying a private life as well. She is exceptionally respectful and sees me as I am. Needless to say, I am grateful for her understanding. That said, particularly during moments of intimacy, I am finding it impossible to ignore the glaring mismatch. Her treatment of the situation is impeccable. We speak openly about this; however, since it is nearly always on the forefront of my mind, I would rather not overburden her with my troubles.

With that in mind, I have decided to join this forum in hopes of receiving additional support and of course, I am glad to offer support as well, in any way that I can.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to participating. Kind regards,

Chester Jones

Hello Chester, welcome!

I am so glad you joined Susan's - I am MtF but joined for the same reason, and then discovered all of us along the gender spectrum share similar motivations.  I found nothing quite compares to the ability to interact with people who have experienced transition or are currently in the process.  Doing so has been very helpful for me and I hope to return the favor.

I went to a therapist which I assumed was just a checklist item before I could start medical procedures, but my assumptions were incorrect.  I began to realize a therapist can be super helpful as they observe and analyze these issues continuously from a professional standpoint.  I wish I had seen a gender therapist earlier.

It's great you are with someone who is very understanding - an amazing person and a keeper. ;)
