All provincial health care systems follow the WPATH standards. There is no waiting time requirement prior to starting HRT. The only delays will be waitlists to get appointments, and the length of time it takes your therapist to understand your needs and write you the referral letter. In my case, it was two appointments with the therapist for my letter and two with the doctor who prescribes them. However, waitlists extended the time to five months. It would have been nine months if I hadn't paid for my own therapist.
For SRS, there are two waits built into the WPATH standards, but they usually overlap. You need to be a year on HRT, and you need a year of RLE.
