Well for lack of a better starting sentence I just want to say... hey and tell you all a little about myself. So here goes...

Story time... YAY!

My name is Krista, just like my display name says, I also like to go by Cortana (sometimes.) I am an MtF and I was actually recently disgnosed with GID.  I've been going to therapy for about 1 1/2 months, I came out to my parents almost 3 months ago and I am getting ready to start taking hormones. On a personal note I'm am very afraid of reaching the end of puberty and having the effects of the hormones lessen (which on average for males is 17 to 18 years of age.)

Anyway, I've known that I was a girl for basically my entire life. I would try on my mothers clothing, hang out with the girls in school, and be (and BTW still am) disgusted with my genitals and wish to grow up to be a girl. I would dream sometimes at night that I would become a girl (and sometimes still do even though that is impossible.) The past 4-6 years of my life have been ever more hellish in terms of feeling wrong about myself and feeling very out of place as a boy. I have very strong feelings about what I want to be and when I'll obtain that goal and I have indeed gotten into many of fights with my parents over it. I can't even imagine for one second living my life as a male, the thought (in my eyes mind you) is absolutely revolting.

Getting off the subject of my tramas I'll get into a little more about who I am and mmy likes and dislikes. First off if you can't tell, I'm a Halo fan, and I know it's a stupid boy thing but it's fun and it's kinda like a soap opera when you play through it and are really paying close attention to the movies in the game. Another thing about me that you may or may not know is that I'm an Avril Lavigne fan and sorta a Punk/Goth myself in a way. I also listen to other bands like Greenday, Coldplay, Gwen Stefani, ect. Whatever really sparks to my liking. I'm also moderately good with computers but don't use them much anymore as the only reason I had gotten into computers was to make myself feel better and get off the fact that I had this problem that I have come out with, not to mention computers don't make me feel the way they used to make me feel as it's just not good enough to take my mind off of this my problems.

Well, that's my story... or at least as much of it as I'm going to type right now as I'm getting tired of all of this typing.;D Enjoy...

Update [12.04.07]: I'm now on Anti-A's! YAY! If you want to hear the whole story about that go here or just scroll down to the 13th reply (the 14th post if your counting). ;)

Update [12.07.07]: I'm on my E's and P's now! YAY! Go here to read more about it. ;)

Welcome to Susan's, Krista.

It is a good thing that you started therapy.  It's a step in the right direction.

I have no idea of who or what Halo is.  I'm actually old enough to be your grandma (56) and I have heard of Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani but I have never heard them per se.

Enjoy your stay here.  Ask questions.  Everyone has a piece of the puzzle and the piece that they have might be one that you need.

Hi Krista, nice to meet you.

I really envy you starting your journey so early in life.  If only.....

Ooops! I promised myself I would have no regrets.

Isn't therapy wonderful.  I didn't believe therapy could do me any good at first.  Then I started, basically because I had nobody to turn to and hence no support. Now I think that therapy is the best thing since sliced bread.  Where else can you unburden your soul to somebody who will not judge you. Who will listen to your innermost desires and help you respond to them honestly. Who will help you see clearly through all your doubt and confusion.  It has lifted a very great weight off my shoulders,  (and removed the anchor that was holding me back).

Best of luck.

Hi cjennyb

Regrets? Na why should I regret becoming the me I had always been to begin with. I have lots of good memories that go all the way back to childhood but when I see me I see a little girl growing up under the same atmosphere. That way my childhood really was the greatest. I also went through the transitioning alone. I only just had my shrink who really wasn't all that familiar on the subject of TSism. But he knew enough to help me find the right folks to get on the hormones and that was it I did it all by myself. I was really scared and would be a liar if I said I wasn't on my first day out as Cindy but I guess I put on the appropriate act and mannerisms that actually attracted people to me instead of repelling them.  I believe myself to still be a pretty good performer and comedian in guy mode and it was those very talents and qualities that got me through it without scaring people away.

Greetings, Krista!

It is indeed wonderful that you can be starting at such a young age when the effects of T can be reversed to some extent.  Many of us wish we had known then wheat we know now.

Best of luck in your progress and welcome to Susan's!

Thanks for all of the warm welcome's guys! I really feel like a part of this community now. ;D

Also, BTW, I have an update for those of you who've read my whole story up in my first post (Specifically about myself going on Hormones and Anit-A's.) I'VE DONE IT!!! I was perscribed an Anti-A yesterday at my first endo appointment and I was also told by the doctor I'd have the E's and the P's soon, like within the week. So I'm definitely on my way down the path of enlightenment. ;)

When more news Developes I'll inform you all of it, but for now that's about it. ;)

Hi Krista
Wow you move fast once you make up your mind there girl. That is good. Spontaneous, spontaneous I like. It was spontaneity that got me off my laurels and begin the journey to full time, overnight, one month before I even began the hormones.

Spontaneous has also proven to me the best way to do things, like, do it before you change your mind.
