"As you probably remember, the version of ENDA originally introduced in April banned workplace discrimination on basis of either sexual orientation or gender expression, but Barney Frank, D-Massachuse__s, pulled his own bill from the House and replaced it with a weakened version that only provided protection against job discrimination based on sexual orientation. You remember this because we at the NSST Express wrote many column inches, and also because the transgender folks and their allies in the greater LGBT community were up in arms — but the watered-down ENDA passed the House anyway."
