Front Fastening Bra Issues

I am about to place an online order for lingerie and I am entitled to a free item.

I am attracted to a front fastening plunge bra, which is on offer in my cup size. The rear band is deep and smooth, thus removing the risk of clasp print-through when under dressing, plus more support.

However, it looks like the front fastening clasp is not adjustable. Is this normal for front fastening bras?

When I wear a new bra, I start on the loosest set of hooks, then tighten up as the bra stretches with wear & washing. This doesn't seem possible with a front clasp.

Yes, is one of the possible problems with a front clasp, you need to get the correct fit to start with and the bra may stretch so that if doesn't fit well after awhile. definitely best if try one on before you but it.

I have a good collection of Victoria Secret Bralettes which are front fastening. These are actually my preferred ones right now (I guess until I get past the A cup).

You are correct, they are not adjustable but the band is very flexible and is stretching quite a bit. Finding the right size was a bit of a challenge in the beginning but their web site offered a sizing guide which actually worked out well for me.

I have ten or so clasping bras and half a dozen pull over bralettes that I have been using for a couple of years, one of them is a VS front closing bra. My size is between a 36b and 36c. They all work well and I have never gotten to the point where I need to move in a set of hooks because of stretching. I like the front closer but I am far sighted and need to put on my glasses to see the clasp to fasten it.....getting old does have a down side or two. Anyway, the front closer is about 1.5 years old and holding up well (I have never had wear out or stretch out problems from Vickie's).

Yes, front hook bras are the easiest to put on and off, but you don't have the little bit of adjustment you have on many rear hook bras. With one I bought from Vicki's Secrets I ended up stitching in a little bit of satin fabric to let it out a tad. Elementary stitchery is a good skill to develop for a lot of us.
