So seeing as how at the time I began HRT I was still going through puberty, I'm thinking that perhaps there has been some effect on my bone structure, since it was not fully developed yet. My hip bones appear wider than they were before, and I don't think that it's just the fat redistribution.

Is this possible? I remember reading somewhere that depending on when you begin hormones that it can affect certain things, like hip development, if you begin them while you're still growing.

Absolutely. If you start before you're 18, some hip development is bound to happen. Of course it's not the same starting at 13 than at 17. I started when I was 20 and I swear my my hips have moved as least a bit. I believe bones finish development around 25 years. Until then, your hips can grow wider.

Ok. So I'm not crazy. I noticed it especially when I stand in a weight-shift position with my hip poking out... it pokes wayyyy out. And they sway more when I move, so I figure my pelvic region as undergone some shifting, so I don't have to force a woman's gait, it just comes naturally.

Yay science.

Hip widening is definitely possible in the early transitioning MTF, particularly those who delayed puberty hormonally.
