Hey,
I can only speak from experience and I have only gone about 1.5-2 weeks in between dilation mainly due to being very busy or just being too lazy lol. I didn't experience any loss of depth or anything bad just that it will take a little longer to fully insert the dilator. I have now been dilating properly and haven't noticed any issues. It becomes easier to dilate if you stick to a schedule especially in the first few months. I was told that loss of depth wouldn't be an issue and it hasn't however i stick to my schedule so that when i do have sex with my husband it will be more comfortable than what it would be if I didn't dilate at all or very little. The Dr will be better able to explain the risks and possible complications if any due to not dilating but it is generally accepted that with sigmoid colon technique dilation is less important but i don't believe that and am sticking to my schedule.
Kind regards,
B
