So, I got my chest done a year ago, and I was so excited. While I am happy enough that I dont have to bind anymore or anything I definitely would NEVER go shirtless anywhere and dont even like being shirtless at home because it honestly looks awful. Especially when compared to other tans mens photos of their surgery.
Its been a year now and hasnt changed.
The doctor said he had done many of these kinds of surgeries and told me i could see before and after photos but i never got to see any. Me being excited to even have it done and my insurance cover it (that and him being one of two docs in the state that do this for trans people) I didnt think twice about not getting to see any. I know they take before and after photos though because they did of me.

I spoke to him again around a week ago, and I told him my concerns when he asked if i was happy with it.
I told him i was mostly concerned with the right side, as it seemed at the bottom of the breast area, he took out too much. All i can really feel is rib under the skin and it sinks down significantly more than the rest or even the other side of my chest. He said that we could talk more about options when im approved to go back under again (which i just was) but seemed to give only two options. One being to tuck down the scar tissue to hopefully pull the skin tighter down (which i cant see how thatd help much) or to take fat from somewhere on my body and put it in the space to fill it, but that that option could end up being useless because the fat could end up just going away.
Im also a bit irked he made a cut around my nipple on the other side of my chest and such (which wasnt discussed beforehand) and now its scrunched up. He said it wasnt avoidable.
I mean, i had asked for keyhole type surgery to be done before we did this but he kept saying he had to do the one with the cuts under the chest. (My brests werent even large enough for a full A cup so the keyhole should have been an option for me.) Im unsure if he actually knew how to do the one i actually wanted, but again, with him being one of only 2 docs in my state that said they were okay with doing stuff for trans people, i wasnt about to give up on the surgery just because id have scars under my chest.

This whole year he had kept assuring me that the issue would correct itself within the years time and it has made no progress at all. Im wondering if this is normal or fearing that maybe I was lied to and he has not really done that many surgeries like this particular one...

I dont care about the scars, as they can be covered with a chest tattoo i planned to get, but that dip in my one side of my chest is pretty bad and it just looks awful and cant be covered by tattoos...

Ill post photos below of what im talking about. I did my best to get decent enough photos to show it.
Does this look any sort of right to you (it doesnt to me but i may be some sort of biased since i dont like my body in general) and should it have made some sort of progress in a year?
I have to talk to him in a few days to decide if i want to have him TRY to correct it, but i wanted advice because if he did botch it, him trying to 'fix' it could make it so much worse and i wouldnt want to risk that...

Sorry you went through this. The results really dint look right; both sides should basically symmetrical. I'd start by reporting him; lieing about the procedure you both agreed on is hugely ethical.  And then find another surgeon with more experience to correct the error. Some might have sympathy to lower the price of a revision.

The only thing i know for sure he lied about was not telling me about the nipple part beforehand. The rest is just what im thinking he lied about. Its a worry i have because of the bad work hes done and such.
Even with the nipple bit, theres no way i can prove he lied/didnt tell me he was doing that before. That and its very likely no one will listen thats important anyhow. This state is highly unsupportive of lgbt people, let alone trans. I was actually surprised my insurance even paid for it (i have state medicaid). Then theres the fact that only ONE other surgeon is listed as being okay for taking insurance for this surgery and they had no reviews or much info on them for it. This one at least had good reviews as a doctors office in general.
There isnt much i can legally do since i dont have proof...

My main thing atm is getting opinions so i can decide if i wanna let him give it another shot or not, and im honestly thinking no cause if he did this bad, he may just mess it up worse trying to 'fix' it..

I would definitely go with another surgeon for the revision. It looks like he may have take out too much tissue in the spots where the dips are. Building up your pec muscles might help even it out a bit more too.

Is there anyway of getting a copy of the form you signed agreeing to what type of procedure he'd carry out?

And definitely don't go back to him. Revisions are a whole lot harder to do than the initial surgery.

I think the form just says the name of the surgery type etc. I dont believe it specified that he wasnt going to do anything around the nipple. Id have to try and look.
Ill look into it.
